MAAT: pricing and plans

MAAT has a single paid plan. According to its pricing page, it costs $59 per month, or $49 per month if you pay for the whole year. You can try it for 7 days before paying. The price is shown in dollars; we have not converted it to euros so as not to quote a figure MAAT does not publish.

GREATER has three plans, priced in euros with VAT included:

Free
Up to 50 students
0 €
Basic20 € /month
Pro
Unlimited students
35 € /month

When you sign up you get 30 days of the Pro plan. If you do not pay when it ends, the academy stays on the Free plan. There is no lock-in and you can change plans whenever you want. On card payments from students, GREATER keeps 1% plus the Stripe fee; MAAT publishes the same formula, so there is no difference there.

What GREATER offers that MAAT does not publish

Comparing both websites on 26/10/2026, these are the differences that can be checked:

  • €0 Free plan up to 50 students. For an academy that is starting out, or has few students, it means using the app without paying a fee.
  • Longer trial. 30 days of the Pro plan versus 7. Enough time to run a full month of fees and classes before deciding.
  • Cash and class packs recorded with no fee. Many academies still collect part of their fees in cash. In GREATER they are recorded in the app and count towards payment tracking. MAAT publishes card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, SEPA, BACS and iDEAL; cash does not appear.
  • Seven languages. Spanish, English, Portuguese, Romanian, French, German and Italian. MAAT publishes six; Romanian is not one of them.
  • Web dashboard in the browser. As well as the mobile app, the academy can be managed from a computer without installing anything. MAAT mentions dashboards, but does not publish a web version.
  • Price in euros with VAT included. What you see is what you pay.

Some things both apps have, and we do not count them as an advantage: family accounts, booking from the phone, attendance, belts and stripes, document signing, class packs with expiry, card payments via Stripe, rankings and stats.

What MAAT does well

MAAT is a serious app built for martial arts. Its main advantage is in fee collection:

  • SEPA direct debit for membership fees. GREATER takes card payments through Stripe, but does not offer direct debit today.

If your academy collects every fee by direct debit and does not want to move to card payments, MAAT covers that.

MAAT reviews: where to read them

For reviews from academies that use MAAT, the most useful places are software directories such as Capterra and GetApp, and the app listings on the App Store and Google Play. There you will see dated reviews with the academy name. We do not show scores or stars here because they change every week and we would rather you read them at the source.

MAAT or GREATER? When to choose each one

Choose MAAT if…

  • You collect fees by SEPA direct debit and want to do it from the same app.

Choose GREATER if…

  • You have fewer than 50 students and want to start on the €0 Free plan.
  • You want to pay less. From €0 and at most €35 a month with VAT included, versus MAAT’s $59 a month.
  • You want more in one app: a shop to sell gear, events and seminars, as well as students, classes and fees.
  • You collect part of your fees in cash or with class packs.
  • You also want to manage from a computer.
  • You want a full month to try before paying.
